We always have small vines crawling through our the wired fences around the house. These small vines can get thick and can even cover the whole side of the fence if left un-attended.
These vines are my reminders that there could be things crawling in my life that I may not be aware of. Thes vines can easily be pulled off when they are young and still soft – but when they get to be thicker and older… and slightly dried up, it takes a lot of effort to extricate them from the fence.
Sins function the same way. Sin take so much easy to take root in our lives especially when left un-attended or when we procastinate addressing them out of our lives. Several days of drizzle and these vines are alive and are just raring to take over the fence. There are days and circumstances in our lives when we are like the soil that can make sin prosper in our lives. When we are in doubt, stressed, too angry, afraid, too anxious… these are the conditions by which sin can easily ensnare us.
What are the things that are slowly creeping into your life? They may be really small and tiny but every day they are growing….
Let us pay attention to these things and root these crawlies out of our lives.
Nice shot.
And nice metaphor.
I have been wanting to do that article for ages now because of the reminders that these vines give me on an almost daily basis. But the camera phones could not capture the vines because of non-macro capability. Good thing – Panasonic models with LUMIX lens do an excellent job in capturing this for me.
