Prayer for my batchmates and their loved ones…

Several of my batchmates and their loved ones are undergoing some health challenges.
The e-group has been receiving prayer emails – and I would like to post here the prayer I submitted on the yahoogroup of QHS83.
As you read this – may this also be a source of encouragement for you – especially if you are going through your own health challenges.
PRAYER
In the name of the full Godhead, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We bow our heads today acknowledging your Lordship and Sovereignty over our lives.
We thank you for the beautiful lives you have given us. For the mountaintops and the valleys, for the different twists and turns… for in all of those things, both expected and unexpected, in things both seen and unseen, your grace through your son Jesus, flows to us.(John 1: 14 – 16)

For in Jesus Christ, blessings upon blessings are bestowed upon us.  In the name of Jesus, the whole universe is sustained (Hebrews 1: 3) – and the fragility of our bodies, is also only sustained by the name of Jesus, our Lord.

Jesus you are also called Jehovah Rapha – the God who heals.  We call upon you now as we lift up our dear batchmates – please look upon them now with the most tender measure of grace.

Thank you for holding their lives (all of our lives) in the palm of Your hands.  Nothing is unknown before you.  Jesus, You being our HIGH PRIEST and Intercessor, we know that you are praying for us.  We bind our faith together as we come before YOU – to ask for your healing grace upon our batchmates.  We surrender them in your loving hands.

Thank you for walking every day with them.  Thank you for the comfort we can expect to receive from You through the daily struggles, doctor’s visits, medical tests that will need to be done, treatments and other medicines to be taken…. thank you for holding them and embracing when the physical pain is at its worst.

You said a bruised reed you will not break – and we also know that You know Your plans for us.  Those plans are not never meant to harm us. (Jeremiah 29:11)  We may suffer for a little while, yet you promised us, by the indwelling of your Holy Spirit in us, that though we may be wasting away, we will be renewed in our inward parts daily.

According to the pleasure of Your divine will – then so be it for all of us.  In sickness, in health, in love, in death, in pain, in victory…. there is nothing, there is nothing that can separate us from your unconditional love, because that love is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8: 38 – 39) -

Father you have started a good work in all of us (Philippians 1: 6) and You are faithful to complete it.  What you desire in all of us is that our faith be refined as pure gold ( 1 Peter 1: 5 -7) and in all of these things, good or bad, we know by faith that You are at work in all of these things (Romans 8:28)…

We thank you that you are in control of our lives.  We lift up our dear batchmates, including the father of ______ – as he battles cancer as well. This is a time of testing – and yet a time where You shower them with Your most precious care.  By the stripes that Jesus bore, we are assured of not just our physical healing to come, but in the wholeness in our broken body.  We look forward to the time when cancer is a thing of the past – the time where you said “all things will be made new…” and that our bodies will be raised incorruptible.

Thank you for listening to our prayers.  Thank you for drawing us to You – and drawing us to each other now as classmates to pray for one another. Thank you that while we may be too far from each other to offer our physical help, our prayers can reach You, our prayers can reach them in the US and in the Middle East.  And the effectiveness of our prayers is not based on our fluency or how we can articulate them – thank you that the effectiveness of our prayers is not because of us – BUT BECAUSE OF YOU.

You who have stretched the curtains of the universe, You who have seen the dawning of the new day – Jesus, You who have been slain at the very foundation of this world… You love us and this lifetime is not even enough for us to contain that love.

As we lift them all up for the healing that only You could give – may Your life be made manifest in all of us.  May Your glory fill the whole earth. May we as frail, broken, afflicted vessels sing forth the praise of HIM whose love for all of us is beyond what we can ask or imagine..

Be glorified even in the midst of our physical broken-ness.
We will wait. We will hope. We will trust as we place our faith solely upon Jesus Christ now and forever.

God is to be praised.  Gloria In Excelsis Deo – glory to You our God in the Highest!

All these we pray and ask in the most precious and most tender name of our Lord Jesus Christ who has made all these things possible,

AMEN
