The dogs started barking to alert me of a presence at the gate.
I sleepily opened the door as Peanut tried to dart outside to join Beans in the barking foray outside.
Standing at the gate was our neighbor Ezra Raduban, carrying a ceramic-breakable container with the still warm champorado covered in rich chocolate sauce, poured with milk and melter butter.
There was a small plate on top containing 4 pcs of “tuyo” that perfectly complemented the champorado.
We had a champorado craving the other week as we were all driving to Bulacan. And on this rainy morning – there was nothing more perfect than the neighbor’s champorado!
Thank God for awesome neighbors who share their champorado on this rainy-bedweather- morning!

it’s been a while since i had tuyo and champorado. yum! yum!
Can you find the ingredients for you to make your champorado there in Oz?
wow..ka lami sa champorado..Indeed, Praise God for good neighbors who share..my own share of blessing today came in the form of biko or sweet sticky rice..given by my neighbor too.
Bakit masarap ang mga snacks ng mga kapitbahay? hehehe.. I love kakanin!
How nice!! I love champorado! Don’t know how well fish would go well with that, but I do know it tastes awesome even on its own
Can I be your neighbor’s neighbor someday?
Dried fish goes very well with that! Salty and crispy along with the chocolatey and milky champorado! Yum.
Oh, such a warm and homey scene.
This kind of simple things makes up the beautiful picture of our country, of home. And little moments like that are the memories I miss about being a filipino.
You wrote it in such a simple way like a vignette from an every day life added to the multitude of scenes that make up the movie in my mind of home.
Thanks for sharing.
I wish you well.

Mabuhay Ezra Raduban. That is an unusual act of kindness. Payong kaibigan Rex may kasabihan tayo na para maulit isauli mo ang ceramic nang hindi hinuhugasan para maulit. That will then be the expression of your appreciation na masarap nga ang kaniyang champorado at tuyo.
