When we have more questions than answers…

Yesterday as I was finishing my breakfast, I received a very heartbreaking sms from one of the younger married couples.  Wifey was not with me at that time – and when she saw me, clutching my phone and at the same time, trying to wipe away the tears, she was clearly surprised and asked what was wrong.

A painful day for one family. Many un-answered questions that would have to wait until the Lord answers them personally for them.

The death of a loved one is one of those defining moments in our lives.  Many times like I have written before, the passing away of a beloved, becomes a marker through which time is assessed to be understood.

When death is sudden and when there are more difficult questions to ask than what the answers could provide, we are faced with an inner turmoil that no one could fathom.  A depth that no one could reach down to.  A pain no one could ease.

EXCEPT GOD.

Dear God,

This week marks for the whole Christian world, the Lent Season.  We are remembering what you had done for all of us – that week, that final week in Jerusalem.  You bore the stripes and the beatings for all of us.  You carried the cross of shame and pain.

By dying on the cross, you are showing us the depth of your unconditional love.

Remember this family now God.  They have lost a young loved one.  You are the only one who can answer their questions and can silence their cries.  Please be merciful and comfort them that only you can.  You are the GOD OF ALL COMFORTS.  Have mercy on the family. Have mercy on them all and surround them with your utmost loving grace.

See you later, in the Kingdom, F.L.

In Jesus’ name,

AMEN

Thanks Bituin. I did not get to sleep until past 4am after our visit to the Luistro family. Will blog some more thoughts on what transpired there. Take care.
