Dear God,
We are just beginning to see the pictures and the coverage of the quake in central Italy. Many buildings collapsed and 150 people were found dead and more than 1,500 were seriously injured.
Please have mercy on them. Let the rescuers find more survivors so that families would be reunited. There were pictures of young men and women who were injured as their dorm collapsed. Lord God, let them see your most tender acts of compassion on our Italian brothers and sisters.
Please comfort them in this most difficult hour of grief.
Thank you for the rescuers. Thank you for the big and small and oftentimes unseen acts of mercy.
Dear God, love those survivors as if they are the only ones to be loved.
In your precious Son’s name, Jesus.
